Verify a fingerprint
Drop a proof package — the named .zip from OPCam's share sheet, or its loose watermarked .jpg and .json files — and we'll show the record details and tell you plainly whether the photo matches its recorded fingerprint. You can also paste a fingerprint manually or drop a photo alone to compute SHA-256 locally. Photos and sidecars stay in your browser; hashing happens locally. Only the fingerprint is sent to the lookup service when checking anchoring, including when you open a fingerprint link.
From the sidecar — not verified by the file hash
These editable fields are claims. A matching JPEG hash does not authenticate them, including the capture time, location, operator or anchoring claims. Text burned into the JPEG is part of its bytes, but its truth is not established by the hash.
For v1.3+ captures, the fingerprint is the SHA-256 of the delivered JPEG file. Anchoring is on the Optimism network; a confirmed result links to the transaction on Optimistic Etherscan.
